C'est un samedi soir à Paris. Thomas, un jeune Américain, est invité à une dégustation de fromages français. Il est excité mais aussi un peu nerveux. Son français n'est pas parfait, et il ne connaît pas beaucoup de fromages.
Thomas arrive dans un petit restaurant chic du Marais. L'ambiance est élégante. Un sommelier accueille les invités et leur donne un verre de vin blanc.
La dégustation commence. Le fromager présente le premier fromage : "Voici un camembert de Normandie. Notez son odeur forte et son goût crémeux."
